Since I'm the first one of importance on the board I'd like to take a moment out to jot down a few thoughts.

First and foremost, congratulations to the 2009 champion Regulars. You were the favorites going in and you lived up to the hype by playing two stellar games. It was a solid bunch of winning vets, hungry non-winners and hungry past winners who gelled into a well oiled machine. Big props to Brian for his hard work, crafty drafting (overlooked by most but mentioned on the play-by-play by Tom and myself: the meat of the order consisted of 3 winning captains!), and over all funny antics when getting mad. I'm going to laugh at you going 'Fuck you fucking armadillo mother fuckers' for a few days.

For the second year in a row, we've produced what was said to have been lost in years past: a good time. Now, last year's freak adventure cannot be looked upon as some singular, fluke, wild day. I'm glad, and proud, to see we've moved past the days of strict do's and don'ts, as well as various anal retentive dick face rules and play that sucked the spirit from the original intention. Gone are 'Debbie rules'. Gone are taking walks and everyone doing the cha-cha around the bases (Leave the cha-chaing to me playing in right). Most importantly, gone are the days of 'This game isn't what it used to be....'

Well, those people are right I suppose. It's not what it used to be, it's better. If you still want to parrot that line, take a fucking hike, because we ain't buying it anymore.

Throughout the past few years, while everyone tried to make the game perfect, we discovered along the way the only important thing we needed to do was have a good time. I think we, as a group, have reached this mindset where the perfect day is having a laugh at all our imperfections.

I had a cheesy moment with Suzy where I gave her and hug and thanked her for coming back. It meant a lot to me because I'd rather have an old friend there rather than Cracker Jack Tommy or CanosCockLover4528. Hopefully, in the future, we can at least have some more old friends there, playing or not, joining in on the fun.

I'd also like to thank our umping crew for what is always a thankless job.

I'd like to thank Tina for helping out in the booth, along with Tone and TJ Brown, who along with myself, hopefully provided some memorable commentary for you guys. Hopefully I didn't botch the camera job too much either. I had a blast with T in the booth, and I'm confident we did a rockin' job seeing as though we were the only ones drinking at the time .

Thanks to Pops for helping me secure a permit. We shall be on it again as soon as the 2010 Yankee schedule is out (not that you guys go to many Saturday games, but just in case it isn't against Boston or the Mets).

Thanks to Shane for bringing vodka, and drafting me. Sorry I butchered Right more than Carmine Giordano cutting up some lamb chops from Moretti's butcher shop in Weehawken.


Lastly, thank you ALL for today.

As for you sid, if i never play with or speak to you again, my heart wont skip a beat. Go spend $25 on a catchers mask and dont even cover the plate when a guys rounding third and your standing in the dugout you fucking moron.
