Awesome night last night...........No money could ever pay for the memories of last night!!!!! Celebrating a championship with most everyone (sorry I missed
Tone516 yesterday for some antics) that I went through this year with even in this New Stadium beats any Meadowlands Stadium Jet game finale!!!! it was also
good to have Capone back in the house throughout the playoffs constently double fisted with beers, filling the Yankee coffers even more, waiting for my wife to
go to the bathroom (or for another beer) so he can grab a seat occasionally and heckling everything in sight and yelling at all of us to get up and cheer
more..LOL

Text message received from Knuckles, 11/5/2009 @ 8:24pm after sending him a text regarding him selling his tickets (once again!) to one of the most important
games in Yankee baseball history: "Way to pay attention to the World Series. $555 each. Who is the idiot now..."
"So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?" -Stewie Griffin to one of the prostitutes at Cleveland's house |

I haven't posted in ages but I have to say that last night was AWESOME!!! First time I was actually at the stadium for this and I'll never forget it.
It was amazing sharing that with all of you and causing mayhem outside the bodega.
I have to say though, it would have bee nice to have been INSIDE. Sancho's brother, Pete &his brother, Seaman Mike and myself enjoyed most of the game from the bodega and outside the stadium after being at the games all season. Hope all you selfish fuckers who put your tickets on stub hub enjoy your profits. Sorry there's no way for you to stub hub the parade. I'm heading to class tired and hung over. See you all tomorrow! |

Get a plan and stop your bitching. I have always liked you but seriously is it our responsibility to supply people with no plan. Let me know if you want full season next year so I can add a ticket for you. Money is due by January |

Just want to say that last night was one of the most amazing and unforgettable nights of my life. It most definitely brought the little kid inside of me out,
as im sure it was the same for many of you. Seeing the Bronx explode like that will be something i will always treasure and never forget.
That was the happiest i have been in so so long and being able to share it with all the crazy motherfuckers outside the bodega was just ridiculous. Tone,,, R U SERIOUS?? R U SERIOUS????????? Hi Christina!... Hanks a DICK |

It's nothing personal Knuckles, but it SUCKS to be there all season up to the World Series clincher and then get shut out. Can anyone tell you what to do
with your tickets? No. But would a little consideration of friends in the section be nice? Perhaps. I had a great time just being up there, but I definitely
missed out by not being in there with everyone.
Herro Mike! Yes, Hank is a dick. However, that odd experience was a classic part of the night. Thanks for being a bodega weirdo with me! |

I finally got to see a Yankees World Series clincher at home. Priceless.

Waited to make this post till after the parade so here goes…
"Every time you come to the ballpark, you see something you have never seen before". … I have been to a fair amount of Yankee games in my life, both in the Bronx and on the road. I'd say somewhere between 400-450….but on the 4th of November 2009 I did and saw something that I had never done or seen before. I ate a hotdog while drinking a beer….and I saw the New York Yankees live win the World Series,…. In the flesh. For every fan, that win was special for a different reason. If there is one thing though that can be shared by the ones in that know however, its that this one should not be taken for granted. I always take great pride in knowing the first yankee team I followed day in day out was the team of 1991. An awful bunch that would play in a stadium which drew upwards of 18,000 on a Friday night. Mattingly of course…Sax,Espinoza, Nokes, Valarde, Barfield, Hall, Kelly, Sanderson, Farr, HOWE etc….
It made me appreciate the things to come. The 93 team with Oneill and Boggs and
eventually Key coming along to bring a winning feel to a ball club that had a first place season stopped by a strike. (THE DANNY TARTABULL SIGNING!!!)
A run in 1995 that had the old yankee stadium rocking for don mattinglys ALDS homerun, like nothing id seen before in the stadium till that time. A sense of appreciation and accomplishment for a team I loved, that had nothing to do with winning a championship at all.
Enter 1996. I will never forget being on pins and needles from game 1 against texas,
to the minute the ball fell into hayes glove.
I wont forget being surrounded my my family in a hotel room on long island to see the
Indians beat them in 1997.
I wont forget 98-99 being on the couch in my family room and almost expecting those series to be swept…and of course 2000 for a guy with tons of long island/queens met fan friends, was a fall that I still to this day hold very close to my heart.
October 26th 2000…the last time I felt the elation of a world series.
By College, I admit..it seemed as if at times I had just expected this team to win, as if it was no big deal, and almost a certainty. 4 years of high school, I saw 3 world series wins. The yankee fans owned, and the met fans awed. Enter November 2001…it seems like yesterday but in reality it was 8 years to the day..again on my couch..sorianos HR and im ready to hit the streets to go nuts..when 20 minutes later its Luis Gonzalez bloop that ends my celebration a bit too soon.
I remember that off-season as a waiting game. Waiting for opening day to come back with a vengeance. Mussina looked good in 2001, and adding Giambi off that year seemed almost a lock for a 5th trip in a row to the world series, and this time another ring. In reality, it was just the start of a 9 year period of a harsh truth in the rules of the game. The david wells game 4 disaster in Anaheim of 2002 was the first reality check.
The joy of the 2003 alcs and the disbelief a week later with beckett on the mound in what was by far the most dominating live performance by a pitcher in a big game I have ever seen in my life.
The 2004 alcs which in many ways was a life changing experience. As miserable as I
was for weeks on end, it showed me that nothing in life is a guarantee. A blessing in disguise perhaps? Regardless, talk about a change in roles, that was the
beginning of a shitty feeling that just went away this year.
I wanted to win in 2005 as bad as anything, and I remember being in vinnys apartment as AROD hit into that double play in the top 9. The air taken out of my lungs. Francessa saying in 2006 that Joe Torre had the easiest road to the world series against the tigers that he ever saw, and we know the rest.
The bugs in 2007 despite andys game 2 brilliance, and seeing the last playoff yankee win in the old stadium, and the END of the Joe Torre era.
Of course 2008 was supposed to be the season where the DRAMA Yankees ended the old stadium in DRAMATIC fashion…in reality I thnk THAT was a blessing. No playoffs. A return to the surface. Adding some sort of hunger for players and fans alike..more than that though in a sense, a change for me too. New stadium which I at first was not a fan of, and even to this day still have a hard time swallowing. 3 new big name players which seemed to follow the list of high signing names that continued to fail this team, and fan base. JOHNSON, PAVANO, WRIGHT, IGAWA, CONTRERAS, BROWN, VASQUEZ..etc…. Change all over. Change…. My stadium, my seats, my priorities…same logo…same team…but just a change that was hard to describe unless you dedicate the time to this team that many of us do. Its funny, for the first time in a while I missed A LOT of games. Had a lot going on this year and the trips to the Bronx could not be as frequent as they once were, but of course my eyes and ears were glued to this team for 162 games AND THEN SOME! What a season. From spring training and the AROD DRAMA. The AROD that I didn't want resigned. The AROD that made his HR RECORD attempt nothing more then a SHAME with the steroid drama that lead to his press conference where he stated this season for him and his teammates would be "the best of our lives". The comebacks, the AROD RETURN/SABATHIA COMPLETE GAME in baltimore, the ATLANTA CERVELLI HR GAME, the Castillo dropped ball, the 0-8 vs boston only to come back and spank them the 2nd season, JETER AND GEHRIGS RECORD, andys NEAR PERFECT GAME, the new people I met in the upper deck, with the same assholes I drink with in the bodega. The Miami trip, the boston trip, the philly game last week etc..etc.. The JETER HR in game 1 of the ALDS that woke a stadium which thought it was witnessing another 1 and done when the TWINS struck first. THE GAME 2 where AROD and TEX came thru with game tying and winning DINGERS. The Sweep. SLAYING THE DRAGON that was the Anaheim angels, where arod again had an MVP TYPE series (he got robbed lets be fair) and marched into the fall classic against the NL CHAMPS, DEFENDING CHAMPS, and 2nd best team in the 2009 baseball season waiting for them. Im not gonna go game for game with this philly thing cause its still so fresh in all our minds, but im writing this post the way I am cause I feel that many of the people out there are still guilty in some ways of taking this fall for granted. Payroll this, playoffs that, collapse, choke, 1 and done etc…. ITS BEEN 9 YEARS SINCE THE FANS HAVE FELT THIS FEELING! NOT YOUR NORMAL 9 YEARS! 9 YEARS OF AN ALL OR NOTHING ATTITUDE THAT HAS AGED SOME OF US 10X THE LIMIT! This year they got it. This year they won it. This year all the off season moves work. All the bullpen moves worked. All the clutch hits happened, and all the pitching performances came through. For some teams, winning the world series is reason for years and years of celebration and pandemonium. For the Yankee brass, they just make it seem like mission accomplished, and 48 hours later get ready to go for #28. Fuck that. Enjoy it. This winter is going to be one of bliss for me.

Tone, that gave me goosebumps as it took me along the journey of my Yankee fanhood. I grew up with baseball and I grew up with this team.
I just re-watched the 9th inning for about the 10th time in the last two days and each time I get anxious/nervous as each pitch leaves Mariano's hand. The first four were so special to me (especially 1996) but this one might top them all...mostly because I witnessed it in person. This year was the type that I wish every person has the opportunity to live through at least once in their life. On April 4th/6th I was in Ford Field as I watched IN PERSON as my second favorite sports team won a Final Four game AND captured the 2009 Men's Basketball National Championship. On July 11th, I married the love of my life, my best friend - my beautiful bride, Jamie. On October 25th, I witnessed my favorite sports team IN PERSON win their 40th pennant. On November 4th, I witnessed my favorite sports team IN PERSON win their 27th World Series. Aside from my parents, my grandfather was the most influential person in my life. Obviously my father was/is an enormous sports fan and pushed me towards sports from the day I was born. But my unwavering love and passion for baseball and the New York Yankees is owed in large part to my grandfather. My grandfather died before the Yankees won the 1996 World Series. I was only 12 years old but the first thing that came to my mind as the ball hit Hayes' glove (and my father and I embraced and jumped up and down in the living room) was my grandfather. I knew that he was there with us that night. And I know that he was there with my brother and I on November 4th. And October 25th. And on April 6th. And on April 4th. And most importantly, on July 11th. My grandfather was alive for 19 of the 27 World Series Championships. He was never inside Yankee Stadium to witness the Yanks win one...until this last Wednesday. I will not engage in ANY talk of roster changes, free agents, trades, re-signings, etc (unless Andy retires or is re-signed). I just don't care about that right now. The New York Yankees are WORLD CHAMPIONS and that's all that matters right now. I am going to celebrate this one all winter long...and I will enjoy and cherish it forever...

Tone that was one of the best posts I have ever read on this board and this has put tears in my eyes. Not one time in that post did you mention stubhub like

Tone - That summed up exactly how I feel. You nailed every single up and down that we experienced and it definitely made me appreciate #27 more than I already
am. The pain that we went through over the last 9 years made this Championship that much better! I was 19 years old the last time we won the World Series
(damn!). My entire life I have always dreamt of witnessing a Yankees World Series Championship in person and this year I finally got to! After paying off
security for games 2 & 6, I knew this was going to happen...it had to. After Mo got the final out and I hugged my mom and brother inside that new stadium,
I won't lie, my eyes watered up. Realizing that a life long dream has come true is a feeling that I will never forget. No, it wasn't across the street.
No, we weren't in 39. And no, I wasn't in 203 for the final out, but my heart was. I wish I had my bleacher family surrounding me for that last out,
but when I finally saw you and the rest of the crew at Vinny's table I exploded like it was the final out again! You were one of my first friends out there
and seeing you brought me all the way back to our first year in the bleachers. We finally got it! HAIL!
